Relation between Elements of Impedance Matrix of Dipoles
Kyoichi Iigusa, Hiroshi Harada (NICT) AP2011-191
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) There is a component that is zero at the port in the current distribution of a dipole antenna. The electric influence of a dipole can be almost eliminated by loading the port with the reactance of j/, where is the ratio of the current component to the port voltage. Therefore, even if a dipole is surrounded with some dipoles, the input impedance of the dipole becomes almost Z'11 that is the input impedance when the dipole is isolated as long as each surrounding dipoles n are loaded with the reactance of j/n. Since n is hardly dependent on the arrangement of the dipoles and Z'11 is the characteristic of the isolated dipole, the expression of the relation between the impedance-matrix elements Zmn which hardly depend on the arrangement of the dipoles is obtained. While clarifying this expression, the factor depending on the interval of dipoles is also investigated.
