A new method to visualize needles with high contrast for the ultrasound-guided intervention was proposed in this study. The method utilizes mirror reflection of the ultrasound beam on the needle’s surface. The reflected beam is captured at a received raster of different scan line, and estimated the true position of the needle by using the captured image. Experimental study with an agar phantom was performed to visualize the needle image, and the estimated image well corresponded to the real position of the needle in the phantom. |
