[Special Talk] Small-Size High-Gain Distributed FET Amplifier in 1-GHz Band

(in English) This paper presents design and prototyping of high-gain distributed FET amplifier in 1-GHz band. The distributed FET amplifier requires no matching circuit. So it can achieve broadband, high gain and small size. A single stage amplifier is composed of two FETs. Each gate and drain terminals are connected by inductor. The inductor and the FET parasitic capacitance are regarded as part of distributed line. The fabricated amplifier matches at 50Ohm and delivered over 17.1dB over frequency range from 100MHz to 1GHz. The circuit measures only 15.0mm×19.5mm.
