A Case Study of Supervisor Processor for Dependable System

(in English) Multicore processor is widely used in various systems. Although it will be used in harsh environment
such as in-vehicle system, depedable design technique for it is not established. To improve the dependability of the
multicore processor, error check and recovery mechanism, such as fault isolation, are necessary. We propose the
dependable multiprocessor system using Sys-SVP(System-level SVP) and HW-SVP(Hardware-level SVP). Sys-SVP
is implemented by software on a processor core, and it care other processors on system. HW-SVP is implemented by
recon gurable logic, and it care Sys-SVP. This paper presents the techniques to improve dependability of HW-SVP
because HW-SVP is a single point of failure in our multicore processor system. As a result, HW-SVP could recover
from both soft-error and hard-error.
