Routing Control Scheme for Wireless LAN Mesh Network with Access Point Wake-up Function and its Evaluation

(in English) Radio-On-Demand (ROD) system which the authors previously proposed saves the power consumptions of IEEE 802.11-compliant wireless LAN Access Points (APs). The APs in ROD system with sleep-mode can drastically reduce the power consumption. However, it is likely to increase waiting time at terminal users for data transfer, and power for AP activation when the number of sleep-mode APs to be activated increases. In this paper, we propose a novel routing control scheme which reduces power consumption and latency in data transmission in ROD-employed grid-shaped wireless LAN mesh networks. Analytical evaluation shows that the proposed scheme achieves low latency and low power consumption.
