Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) A monosyllable identification task was tested and syllable intelligibility was measured for two profoundly hearing-impaired people to confirm whether they could recognize speech sounds provided by a bone-conducted ultrasound hearing aid.
The results indicated that higher intelligibility of specific consonants was observed when both visual cues from lip-reading and acoustic cues from a bone-conducted ultrasonic hearing aid were available, and the higher intelligibility of specific consonants caused the higher syllable intelligibility.
