| (in English) | According to the rapid spread of smartphones, their usage pattern is becoming diversified. For instance, some companies are allowing employees to use their personal smartphones at work. Such usage style is called BYOD (Bring Your Own Device). The situation in which smartphones are used changes dynamically so that the functions of smartphones should be controlled depending on the situation. In particular, because of the mobility, multi-functionality and the low awareness of security issues among users, the applications should be controlled flexibly and autonomously depending on its location. In this paper, we propose a platform to control the functions of smartphones according to its situation. We introduce an ID-base encryption mechanism to realize the platform. Functionality can be controlled flexibly according to the usage situation, by decrypting the encrypted configuration file according to decryption key conditions. The policy located in the control server in the company site can be applied automatically, for example, preventing an employee’s privately owned smartphone application from being launched on company premises, or only allowing corporate applications to be launched on premises. |
