NSI (Network Service Interface) is an OGF standard interface, which enables to request network services. The draft version of NSI was released in March, 2011 and the NSI Plugfest has been planned at GLIF2011 and SC11.
We have been developing the GridARS resource management framework for multi-cloud environment. In order to develop a GridARS-based NSI reference implementation, there are two technical issues: GridARS polling-based process may cause long delay and NSI focuses on network services and GridARS adapts various resources.
In this work, we adopt the JAX-WS 2.0 asynchronous communication model, which enables quick reservation processes and develop a NSI reference implementation as proxies. Our NSI reference implementation joined the NSI Plugfest at SC11 over the international network testbed and the demonstration showed the feasibility of NSI. |
