A Study about Support System for the Use of Communication Devices for People with Disabilities -- Focus on Support Organization --

(in English) We report the result of survey of support organizations for communication of people with disabilities to expose issue in improvement of support system for the use of communication devices for people with disabilities. The result showed: 1) People with disabilities needed many supports such as rental service, adaptation for switch, instrument setup, and training of operation before and after communication devices intervention, 2) Communication device dealers had important critical roles in implementation of these supports, but dealers shouldered an enormous burden under present system of the supply of the prosthetic appliances, 3) To improve support system for the use of communication devices for people with disabilities, distribution of roles about support between experts about rehabilitation in public sector, dealers and volunteer computer supporters must be explored.
