Vergence and accommodation become effective cue to absolute distance perception, respectively. However, there is conflicting evidence about effect of distance perception when vergence and accommodation are presented simultaneously. In the current study, we investigated whether absolute distance of vergence is modulated by changes of accommodation. Subject observes dichoptic stimulus of binocular vision that evoked vergence by fixation target, look through concave or convex lenses. It’s named reference stimulus. Similarly, they observe them look through non-refractive lenses. It’s named test stimulus. They control vergence of test stimulus, and make the same apparent distance as reference stimulus. The result showed that absolute distance of vergence is modulated by changes of accommodation. |
