A Software FMEA Method and Its Use in Software Product Line

(in English) Exceptional operations of the system are often speci ed insufficiently, thus a lot of defects are introduced
in them through development phases from requirements to implementation. FMEA is one of promising technologies
to increase not only quality of components but also that of requirements and speci cation for exceptional operations. The resulting quality of FMEA depends on the skill of failure mode identi cation. This paper presents a method to identify failure modes of system behaviors, not of components, for software intensive systems. The proposed method regards the defect as anomaly on properties of behaviors and their relating objects and identi es failure modes of system behaviors with using HAZOP guide words. The paper also describes a methodology to perform FMEA in a systematic manner with using the failure mode identi cation in software product line development.
