A data gathering scheme in wirelesssensor networks using discrete vibrate-and-fire neurons

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In this article, a discrete vibrate-and-rife neuron (DVFN) and its pulse-couples neural network (PCNN) are introduced. A single DVFN has dicrete radius and argument as state variables, and can exhibit various periodic phenomena. Also, a master-slave PCNN consisting of plural DVFNs can exhibit synchronous and various quasi-synchronous phenomena depending on initial states. Next, a data gathering scheme in a wireless sensor network in which each wireless sensor node has a DVFN as a timer is considered. By using the proposed scheme, the number of transmissions can be reduced, and efficient data gathering is possible. Through numerical simulations, the effectiveness of the proposed scheme is verified.
