A study on the color similarity metric based on the human color perception

(in English) The calculation of color difference is one of the most basic techniques in the image-processing field. For example, color clustering and edge detection are the first step of most image processing,and those are computed using color difference equation. Although CIELAB color difference equation is a typical method, the result do not meet one’s feeling when the color difference becomes large. In this paper, we did psycho-physiological experiments on how the range of the color perceived man be similar has spread in the a*b* plane. Based on this result, we propose a new color difference metric.
