There is the possibility for an increase in data downloading time, because of tight bandwidth in the carrier IP network by the explosion of Internet traffic in the future. As prevention measures of the increasing download time, preference transmission for specific Internet communications is proposed. Mainly two methods can be cited as the preference transmission method. One is a resource reservation method using network management function in career IP network. Another one is a bandwidth fair sharing method. The resource reservation method is more expensive method of appealing user than the bandwidth fair sharing method. On the other hand, bandwidth utilization of the bandwidth fair sharing method is higher than the resource reservation method that generate of the unused bandwidth caused by band division. In this paper, we evaluate domain of applicability of the bandwidth fair sharing method and the band sharing method by quantitative evaluation of the difference of data download time that arises from the difference of bandwidth utilization. |
