Reducing power consumption is required in a wireless component for a sensor network or a metering. For the usecases, intermittent transmission is effective for reducing power consumption because interval time of the transmission is long (about a few minuts - a few days).
An intermittent transmission method realized by synchronizing the transmission timing among network nodes has been proposed. The intermittent transmission method has some problems. For example, synchronization increases power consumption, and a clock drift causes a synchronization error. We analyze the power consumption with time synchronization, and propose the intermittent transmission using a global time synchronization. |
