[Invited Talk] Standardization Trends of Wireless Multi-Hop Network on Smart Community -- 920MHz ZigBee IP and ECHONET Lite --

(in English) After March of 2011, METI (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) drives forward a policy expanding use of HEMS (Home Energy Management System), BEMS (Building Energy Management System) and smart meter in order to keep the balance of supply and demand in electric power. HEMS has many equipments (such as HEMS server, home gate way, consumer electronics, electric power equipments, electrical vehicle, sensors and smart meter) on a standardized network. The standardization of network protocol and interface is very important to realize the interoperability of HEMS equipments in the home area.
In this paper, I show the multi-hop wireless network technology to realize the network of smart meter and HEMS/BEMS. The regulation of 920MHz band and related international standards are explained. I show the smart house interoperability in METI and 920MHz ZigBee IP in ZigBee SIG-Japan.
