We examined the possibility that the pupil diameter variation can be an index to predict position and size of visual attentional area. We hypothesized that the pupil diameter would change due to the stimulus property at the covertly attentional area even if the overt attention (gaze direction) does not shift. To verify this hypothesis, we measured the pupil size variation with the cuing task paradigm. The results supported it to show that the pupil diameter varied with the luminance of the stimulus in the covertly attentional area. |
