Recently, multi-core fibers are extensively studied for enlargement of the transmission capacity. Because several cores are arranged in multi-core fiber, connectivity of each individual core requires high precision alignment. In this report, we propose the novel multi-core fiber which has non-circular cladding. Non-circular shape may allow for easy and precise alignment of rotational angle of the fibers. |
