| (in English) | Optical fibers, especially silica-based optical fibers have a number of advantages such as low-loss, wide bandwidth, light weight, small diameter, high electrical insulation, easy installation and so on. Almost 30 years have passed since study of fiber sensors started. Today, fiber sensors are applied to physical measurement like strain, temperature, electrical current, rotation, image sensing, and chemical sensing. This tutorial reports the trend of optical fiber sensors and the related technology of fibers which support the fiber sensors. | |
