Design of Multi-Mode Bandpass Filter with Multiple Transmission Zeros Using Transversal Array Configuration of Meander Loop Resonators

(in English) In this paper, we propose a new multi-mode bandpass filter (BPF) configuration, which is a transversal array of two meander-loop resonators located in parallel to input and output (I/O) lines. The equivalent circuit of the filter is expressed with five paths connected to I/O ports in parallel, of which the four paths are formed by four even/odd-mode resonances, and the remaining one is provided by the direct I/O coupling. The design parameters of the filter are external equality factors and the modal resonant frequencies. To design such a multi-mode filter, we also proposed a design technique to extract the external quality factors of multiple resonant modes. The effectiveness of the proposed filter configuration and the design technique was confirmed by a design example of fourth-order BPF having multiple transmission zeros at the passband edge because of negative couplings of the odd-mode resonances.
