A Japanese version of an audio-visual corpus for Coordinate Response Measure (CRM)

(in English) The Coordinate Response Measure (CRM) is widely used in English-speaking countries as a test to measure speech intelligibility in multi-talker environments. In CRM, a spoken phrase consisting of call sign, color, and number is presented in isolation or simultaneously with other spoken phrases, and the listener is instructed to answer the color and number that are associated with a specified call sign. The proportion of correct answers is regarded as an index of intelligibility. The authors constructed a Japanese corpus for conducting CRM experiments with Japanese-speaking listeners. Movies of speaking faces also were collected to allow experiments on audio-visual interaction in speech intelligibility.
