We developed an analyzing system for tremor using the three-axis accelerometer built into the Wii Remote in 2008. We propose a theory of estimating the tremor amplitude and mounted it in our system. The aim of the study was to test our system experimentally. To test our system, mechanical oscillations generated by a oscillation generator were sent to a Wii Remote that was attached to the device. The oscillating amplitude was set at 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, and 2.0 cm, and the oscillating frequency was varied from 1 Hz to 15 Hz in steps of 1 Hz. Our system was able to compute the frequency of the oscillation generator ( 3 - 10 Hz) within a 5% relative error. The estimated and generated amplitude were in close agreement. The system was shown to be capable of analyzing frequency and estimating amplitude for tremors between 3 Hz and 10 Hz. |
