Time division multiplexing (TDM) and code division multiplexing (CDM) have been investigated for a superconductive sensor system using single flux quantum (SFQ) read-out circuits. By using SFQ binary counters, which counts the number of output SFQ signals from each sensor, the data can be multiplexed and transferred using a few connection wires from the low-temperature environment to room-temperature equipments. We have evaluated performances of the multi-channel superconductive sensor system on the basis of analog circuit simulation. Assuming a 32-channel digital SQUID magnetometer and the TDM, the number of connections and the slew rate of the input magnetic flux are estimated to be 11 and 4.0×10^9 $\phi$_{0}/s, respectively. If we employ the CDM, the slew rate can be improved up to 1.0×10^11 $\phi$_{0}/s though the number of connection is increased to 26. We have tested 2-channel digital SQUID system, which can perform the TDM by SFQ 4-bit up/down binary counters, and confirmed its correct operation. |
