Composite Hypothesis Tesising and Analysis on Coding for Multiple Access Channels in the Finite Blocklength Regime

(in English) This paper analyzes the probability of decoding error or the rate region of codes for multiple access channels in the finite block-length regime. A new upper bound on the probability of decoding error is derived, indicating the existence of codes that satisfy this bound for a given block-length. It is shown that the new bound is tighter than the one given by Han and the one given by MolavianJazi and Laneman. The derived upper bound can be optimized by using a relation between decoding for the multiple access channel and a class of composite hypothesis testing. A lower bound on the probability of decoding error for a given block-length is also derived based on composite hypothesis testing. The derived bound is shown to be tighter than the lower bound given by Han.
