Experimental Study on Resolution Enhancement in height estimation of SAR Tomography

(in English) A system of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Tomography by using parallel repeat-pass SAR images obtained at the same place can be regarded like an antenna array.
Three-dimensional imaging of position of the object on the space can be realized with these SAR images (baseline data set) by using direction of arrival (DOA) estimation techniques. However, high-resolution three-dimensional imaging is difficult because the number of flight paths are limited.To overcome this difficulty, we propose to apply the Khatri-Rao (KR) product array processing to the SAR Tomography which enhance the array aperture and improves the degrees-of-freedom and the resolution of the array system. In this report, we provide preliminary results of experimental study on resolution enhancement of SAR Tomography using the Beamformer (BF) method and the EM algorithm \cite {em} applied to the KR product array processing.
