[Poster Presentation] A study on PAPR reduction for the three-valued OFDM signal

(in English) OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) is a digital
modulation technique. The transmitted signal consists of many orthogonal carrier waves.
A major drawback of OFDM is the high peak-to-average power
ratio(PAPR), because OFDM add many modulated signals. This paper considers
using the ternary OFDM signal which expresses information by the
ternary modulation signal containing the amplitude
0. The number of subcarrier signals can decrease, and the ternary
OFDM signal can
reduce peak power. OFDM signal is generated by using 6B4T
(6Binary-4Ternary) signal which makes the correspondence of six
binary data and four ternary signals. As the result, it is shown that
the upper bound of
PAPR can be reduced to 10.7 [dB], and it is 1.3[dB] smaller than
the OFDM signal which modulated by conventional BPSK.
