This paper shows results of the IEEE 802.19.1 coexistence system implementation and its evaluation.
Two types of secondary users are considered: unlicensed and light licensed. Both types are secondary users, which means that they shall not cause harmful interference to the primary users. Among the secondary users the light licensed users have priority to access the white space frequency bands compared to the unlicensed secondary users. This means that unlicensed secondary users shall not create harmful interference to the light licensed secondary users.
When only unlicensed secondary users are operating, the IEEE 802.19.1 coexistence system creates such configuration of the operating frequencies of the unlicensed secondary users that they do not create interference to each other and thus can achieve higher throughput and quality of service.
When both light licensed and unlicensed secondary users are operating, the IEEE 802.19.1 coexistence system creates such configuration of the operating frequencies of the unlicensed secondary users that they do not cause interference to the light licensed secondary user and thus allow protection required by the radio regulations. Also, the configuration of the operating frequencies of the unlicensed secondary users is selected in such a way that they create minimum possible interference to each other and thus can achieve higher throughput and quality of service. |
