An approach to measuring effect of Cool Biz using microcomputer sensors

(in English) The Cool Biz provides effective countermeasures to global warming and saving power consumption, and should be accomplished by all means. This paper describes the development of a microcomputer system which can measure the temperature of multiple points at the same time. Because an experiment on the Cool Biz is expected to be performed indoors, a PC which accumulates measured data and the microcomputer are connected by wireless LAN and a wireless communication device. Through preliminary experiments, it is confirmed that the maximum measurement error among temperature sensors is approximately 2 degrees Celsius. Higher precision is necessary to achieve for a quantitative study of the Cool Biz. Several methods for correcting the measurement error are explored in preparation for future research.
