When the Tohoku earthquake occurred on 11 March 2011, piles heads moved about 40cm to southward. The piles have been driven into the ground base of the quay. Though a borehole inclinometer was used to obtain the tilt angle data, it is requested that more detail data about bending and circularity of the pile in order to examine about unusual stress on the material. We considered the procedure and devices for that measuring and tried to measure in site of the quay. We have succeeded largely to obtain the data, and this article introduce about the mission and the development. |
