| (in English) | A branch-line hybrid plays an important role in microwave and millimeter-wave circuit system. However, its operation band is relatively narrow. To improve the operation band several band-broadening design techniques have been reported. We have also reported a broadband branch-line coupler by using open-circuited series stubs as external matching networks. Generally, a series stub for a microstrip is realized by making a slotline stub on its ground plane in the direction at right angles to the microstrip line. In this paper, by utilizing the short-circuited series slot line stubs as the external matching network of branch-line coupler, broadband characteristics of about 30 % can be obtained. Finally simulation and experimental verifications of the present circuit construction are described. | |
