Emergence of pulse stress waves by interaction between laser and composite structure target -- study of confined structures using a thin-black target --

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) When a laser pulse with the power of sub GW/cm2 is irradiated to a composite structure (confined structure) which the surface of the optical absorber is covered with a transparent material, laser-induced emergent stress wave (LIESW) used for gene transfer into cells can be easily generated by ablation and plasma formation in an adhesive layer between an optical absorber and a transparent material, and its propagation velocity is higher than the sound speed. This paper reports the experimental results of LIESW formed in the confined structure using black target under 0.1mm in thickness.
