To make practical use of TES detectors among X-ray spectroscopy applications, a large array is required to achieve a detecting area comparable with commercial semiconductor detectors. As the readout technique for such a large number of pixels, Mates et al. proposed a dissipationless multiplexer based on a microwave resonator connected with a readout SQUID and demonstrated the readout operation. In this work, we adopted a microstrip-type SQUID which has a vertical loop composed of a strip and a groundplane underneath the strip. Generally, the microstrip-type SQUID has smaller parasitic inductance than the planar one, which is preferable for accurate design with small loop incuctance. Using a multiplexer, we have successfully demonstrated the multiplexing of three pulsed signals with 1-msec. width and spacing given at the input ports of three SQUIDs. |
