In a coherent system, the phase shift caused by the optical frequency difference between a phase modulation signal and local oscillator adversely affects transmission performance. The M-power method for digital signal processing of the digital coherent receiver is widely used to estimate and compensate the phase shift. The compensation range of the M-power method is, however, limited. Thus, cycle slip occurs when the phase shift is out of the compensation range. We propose an algorithm for suppressing cycle slip. The suppression effect of cycle slip was numerically investigated. |
