Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) It is well recognized that not only verbal information, but also nonverbal information including facial expression, gestures, moods play important roles in human communication. Some studies show that the ratio of the nonverbal information occupies more than the half of total information used in human communication. Also, some studies present that emotion has certain effects on human memory. It is said that the stronger expressed level of emotion is, the better memory is. In this paper we study the effect of impression of interface agent to the memory of users. We use interface agent with facial expression and gestures in computer supported learning system, and examine the relationship between facial expression of interface agent and the human memory. The result shows that interface agent with facial expression enhances the memory of human users.
