Classification of Idiopathic Interstitial Pneumonias using Transductive Support Vector Machine

(in English) In order to reduce the burden of doctor, computer aided diagnosis system,
which aims to help doctor for diagnosis, is desired to develop. We try to develop a classification engine for idiopathic interstitial pneumonias (IIPs) image by use of transductive support vector machine (TSVM). TSVM is a kind of a semi-supervised learning machine, which is applied when we have not only small number of labeled dataset but also large number of unlabeled dataset. In the field of medical imaging, the cost for obtaining a labeled datum is high since it requires physician's diagnosis. In constrast, the cost for unlabeled is lower than that of the labeled one. In this study, we confirm that the classification performance for the IIPs is increased with TSVM.
