The relationship between saccadic distance and the temporal order judgment during voluntary and automatic saccade
Yoshiko Yabe, Hiroaki Shigemasu (KUT) HIP2012-54
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Previous researches have reported that our perception of temporal duration and temporal order are modulated during or just before or after eye movements. When two events occur within a very short interval before saccadic eye movements, the order of them is perceived inversely (Morrone et al., 2005[1]). The present research compares the temporal order judgment between two conditions: when peripheral saccadic target appears, the fixation point remains on the screen or disappears from the screen. In the second experiment, we added the conditions in which saccadic target appears near from the fixation point to review the effects of characteristics of saccades on the modulation of temporal order judgment.
