This paper proposes 3-D cuboid structure array antenna which enables high resolution 2-D DOA estimation.
Generically elevation estimation accuracy often derades in 2-D DOA estimation by planar array antenna because aperture plane of elevation-direction is smaller than that of azimuth-direction.
The authors have already proposed 3-D structure array antenna so that elevation estimation accuracy is improved, but that array antenna can't estimate DOAs of coherent waves.
The proposed cuboid array antenna has almost the same DOA performance as the conventional 3-D structure array.
And the proposed array antenna can estimate DOAs of coherent waves which the conventional array antenna can't estimate. |
