Optimum AMC Reflector Configuration for Dipole Antenna with AMC Reflector Yasutaka Murakami, Toshikazu Hori, Mitoshi Fujimoto (Univ. Fukui) AP2012-107 |

The high gain Antenna can be realized by the AMC (Artificial Magnetic Conductor) Reflector that has the PMC(Perfect Magnetic Conductor) characteristics. However, the configuration of the AMC Reflector is adjusted for each antenna. Thus, the optimum AMC reflector is not clarified yet. In this report, we consider the effect of the number of the arranged elements and the size of the ground plane of the AMC reflector. And, we research the optimum configuration of the arranged elements of the AMC reflector.
As the result of examination, it is found that the highest directive gain is achieved by the dipole antenna with the AMC reflector with the 5 ×8 elements. Moreover, it was understood that the optimum AMC reflector doesn’t depend on the size of the ground plane. Moreover, it is clarified the directive gain of the dipole antenna with the AMC reflector is decreased due to the phase disorder of the current on the ground plane. Furthermore, the directive gain can be increased by new device of the element arrangement. |
