[Invited Talk] Micromagnetic calculation of microwave assisted magnetic recording process

(in English) Microwave assisted magnetic reversal simulation for single ECC pillars revealed that magnetization switching is well enhanced for 3-layered ECC pillar compared with that for 2-layered ECC pillar. Signal recording with microwave assistance was also numerically simulated by solving the Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation. Read/write characteristics were evaluated considering signal to noise ratios of the read back signals through signal reading simulations. Optimal microwave frequency for signal recording was found to be dominated by the physical and magnetic properties of the 2nd layer. 1st and 2nd layer thicknesses less and greater than the exchange lengths of own layers, respectively, were also found to contribute to confinement of the recorded track width with retaining relatively high signal to noise ratios.
