Basic Feature Quantity and Analysis of Digital Spike Phase Maps
Narutoshi Horimoto, Toshimichi Saito (HU) NC2012-73
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) This paper studies digital spike maps that can output various digital spike-trains.
The maps can generate a variety of digital spike-trains depending on parameters and initial values.
As a preparation to analyze the rich dynamics, we define basic feature quantity of the dynamics such as the number of periodic spike-trains and maximum number of transient mappings to a steady state.
We analyze a typical example of the digital spike maps given by discretizing the bifurcating neuron.
Analysis and classification of digital spike-trains are important not only as basic study but also for engineering applications.
The digital spike map is a mapping from a set of lattice points to itself and is a simple digital dynamical systems.
Our results may contribute to the develop a novel dynamical system theory.
