Development of mini-TWT for S-band 2kW pulse MPM

(in English) The Microwave Power Module (MPM) has excellent features such as broadband, small size and lightweight, high power and high efficiency. These features enable various unique applications in high-speed communications system as well as in radar systems. In this paper, we will present the development of a miniature traveling wave tube (mini-TWT) for the MPM, which especially suits radar systems. The features of the mini-TWT are RF output power of more than 1.5kW in the range of 2.6 to 4.0GHz, maximum RF output power of 2.1kW, high overall efficiency of 48%, small size of 50mm(W) x 50mm(H) x 350mm(L) and lightweight of 1.4kg.
