A NAV Period Control for High Prioritized Channel Access in Wireless LAN

(in English) There is a problem how to QoS control in wireless LAN. In this paper, we perpose a dynamic NAV control method, even if a high priority terminal(conventional IEEE802.11 Vo category) and DCF terminal are coexisted. In the proposed method a fake value is added to NAV period to control priority. Under the proposed control, the conventional high priority terminal has to wait an additional time of the fake period than the proposed terminal, and then starts the carrier sense. However, the proposed terminal start the carrier sense earlier the conventional high priority terminal because the terminals under the proposed control know NAV includes the fake period. We evaluate performance of the proposed method by simulation experiments, and show that the proposed methods are given higher priority.
