Molecular processes in glycolytic oscillations in yeast

(in English) Experimental results were obtained regarding the dependence of glycolytic oscillations on pH, suggesting that activities of three ATPases in cells largely affect glycolytic oscillations in yeast. We present further studies to confirm the above assumption that three ATPases may affect the oscillations. Analyses of a mathematical model of glycolysis in yeast exhibited bistable behavior composed of oscillations and steady states as a function of activity of an ATPase. Further analysis in the bistable behavior may reveal the function of oscillations appeared in organisms.
