The use of MoO3 as a cathode buffer layer inserted between LiF and Al improved the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of planar pn-heterojunction organic solar cells (OSCs) using an amorphous molecular material, tris[4-(5-phenyl¬thiophen-2-yl)-phenyl]amine, as a p-type organic semiconductor, and C70 as an n-type organic semiconductor. A p-i-n junction OSC using MoO3 as a cathode buffer material exhibited a high PCE of 4.1% under illumination of AM1.5G at an intensity of 100 mWcm-2. |
