Recently, the contactless power transfer systems have attracted much attention, as it is possible to supply electrical energy to vehicle without cables. In this study, we study about the application of high-power contactless power transmission systems in the railway. Problems in these systems arise due to increase in reactive power. In this paper, contactless power transfer system is designed with reactive power characteristics taken into consideration. And we adopt the PWM rectifier using an instantaneous current control method at the secondary side. The effectiveness of the proposed systems including the control method is verified by experiments.
