Feedback, Nationality and Trust in Cross-Border Electronic Commerce

(in English) Cross-border electronic commerce offers potential benefits to vendors, but it is still not widely adopted by consumers. This study investigated the factors that influence consumers’ intention to shop online on a foreign website, using a model of consumer behavior with trust and risk. A survey was conducted in Japan, which obtained 915 responses divided into three groups, corresponding to different scenarios of feedback in the website. The influence of general trust factors varied between the three conditions. In particular, general electronic commerce trust did not significantly influence website trust in the absence of feedback.
