10.7Gbps-80km Fiber Transmission of Full C-band Tunable TOSA with LGLC Tunable Laser

(in English) LGLC tunable laser which was integrated with lateral grating assisted lateral co-directional coupler (LGLC) as the tunable filter was developed and side mode suppression ratio (SMSR) of over 40 dB was obtained at full C-band wavelength range. Moreover, transmission of 1600 ps/nm dispersion which corresponds to 80 km fiber was demonstrated in Tunable-TOSA (Transmitter Optical Sub Assembly) which was mounted with both LGLC tunable laser and MZ(Mach-Zehnder)modulator. Less than 2 dB of power penalty was successfully obtained at full C-band wavelength range.
