This paper investigates resource allocation problems for spectrum sharing in overlay femto cell network which is constituted by randomly distributed femto base stations. In this scenario, it is subject to severe co-channel interference (CCI). Thus, aiming at maximization of sum-rate capacity, radio resource management (RRM) plays an important role in alleviating the CCI issue. An appropriate RRM is carried out by finding global optimum after formulating an optimization problem which requests information of interference levels from all femto cell. According to the number of users in the overlay networks, it requires huge burden for collections of such kind of information. This paper focuses on autonomous distributed RRM to find local optima without sacrificing costs of the notification. However, due to the distributed manner, it does not take into account inter-femto cell CCI. As a result, the global optimum and combination of local optima are not identical, resulting in different sum rate capacity. In order to shrink the gap, in terms of capacity, this paper proposes a novel mechanism with the assist of several bits notification of knowledge on mutual CCI and a cooperative cell blanking technique. Computer simulations have been conducted to verify the proposed approach. |
