Initialization Process of a Tracking Filter

(in English) In this paper, we propose an initialization process of a tracking filter using a constant n-th derivative of a position model in three-dimensional space. For example, when we use a constant acceleration model, a tracking filter starts with the initial state estimate (position, velocity and acceleration) and the associated initial error covariance matrix. The usual initialization process involves a linear combination of the first three measurement vectors. However, it has not been reported what the optimal initial state estimate is. Therefore, we derive an initial state estimate using the weighted least squares approach.
