Fundamental performance of searching ability of an asynchronous sequential PSO

(in English) Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is recently attracted great attention. It is classified into one of heuristics solving algorithms. In generally, each particle of the conventional PSO moves given search space, and the particle calculates an evaluation value by using corresponding the location information of the particle. On the other hand, we propose an asynchronous sequential update PSO whose state update of the superior location is performed for each dimension. We carry out some numerical simulations of the proposed asynchronous PSO by using well-known benchmark functions to compare the performance with the conventional synchronous PSO.In addition, we investigate a random number width which affects to the search performance.
